H. Rider Haggard

SIR HENRY RIDER HAGGARD (1856–1925) is one of the world’s best-loved novelists. He began his career as a civil servant in South Africa, the evocative landscape of which would provide the setting for many of his best-selling books, in addition to inspiring a literary genre known as 'Lost World'. He was knighted in 1912.
