Erin Pizzey

ERIN PIZZEY is an English family care activist and an author of fiction and non-fiction works. She was born in China in 1939.

In 1971 she established the domestic violence shelter, Chiswick Women's Aid, the first of its kind in the world. She has had a complex and controversial relationship with feminist movements, in part due to her pioneering research into domestic abuse, the results of which suggested that women were nearly as likely to commit acts of domestic violence as men.
